In all your ambitions of the magnanimous year of 2020 

as promised by scientists and dreamers and fortune-tellers alike 

did you ever think to consider the very same years you have spent 

building these very same aspirations to reach new heights 

how much you destroyed the one thing that guarantees your existence 

with ignorance, inaction, and apathy that it doesn't deserve from the very humans 

who are now trapped into their own cages as they taste the bitter taste of their own medicine 

turning more animal than human as they doubt, curse and blame everything 

apart from their own monumental screw up in bringing upon the end of the freaking world.
